GEP Centre Director and Chair of International Economics - Person Specification
- Evidence of significant academic achievement and strong research reputation in fields of globalisation, international trade or international economics.
- Experience of successful management/leadership at a senior level within higher education or relevant environment both as an individual and as a member of teams, and a desire to apply this experience to shape the direction of the GEP Research Centre.
- Evidence of high levels of motivation and the personal drive necessary to introduce change and provide exemplary leadership, vision and strategic direction to staff and partners at all times.
- Senior experience of sustainable strategic planning, successful delivery of operational plans and a demonstrable record of achieving financial targets in an academic environment.
- A successful track record of building and consolidating reputation, brand and quality within higher education and the ability to develop sustainable and mutually beneficial partnerships and influence stakeholders at the highest level.
- A high level of external/internal credibility and the ability to utilise this to maintain and enhance the external profile of GEP effectively.
- A PhD, in an economics related subject area would be desirable.
